Juniperus communis L. Juniper berries are traditionally used in genever making and are gradually also becoming a firm favourite amongst the growing number of gin lovers. However, they are also increasingly finding their way into the brewing kettles of craft and hobby brewers. A handful of berries, crushed or whole, added at the end of the boil, usually give the desired spicy note.
